Education

QuanXR

QuanXR is a hands-on UConn initiative that sparks curiosity and builds quantum literacy. Through interactive learning, community engagement, and immersive workshops, QuanXR inspires students and educators to explore the possibilities of quantum science and technology.

Molecular Quantum Day

Do you want to explore the fascinating world of science that governs the very fabric of reality? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! We invite you to join Dr. Mani, Dr. Selampinar, and Dr. Zhao for a special Molecular Quantum (MolQ) Day designed specifically for high school students like you. MolQ Day is a Saturday event, featuring interactive workshops on Chemistry-themed experiments, and presentations led by Dr. Mani. Students can visit the laser lab (PI Mani's lab houses various lasers and spectroscopies) and the NMR lab at UConn. No prior knowledge of quantum mechanics is needed, just an open mind and a desire to learn!

Applications due 10/15/25

Breakfast and lunch will be provided!

You'll learn about

· Quantum concepts and the phenomena and technologies around us that are derived from them

· The strange behavior of particles at the atomic and subatomic levels

· How "quantum" is revolutionizing technology today (think quantum computers!)

When?

· November 15th, From 9:00 am to 3:00 pm

Where?

· UConn Chemistry Building, Storrs Campus

Requirements: Interested students must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher, as well as strong interest in the STEM fields. The students should submit 200 words essay why they are interested in this opportunity.

MolQ Day is funded by NASA Connecticut Space Grant Consortium.
